Bible Study With Friends exists to
“SHOW and GROW a passion for studying God’s word.”
Our mission, vision, and heart’s desire as summarized in Ezra 7:10 is to, “Study, obey, and teach God's word” to people all over the world. We believe that in fulfilling the Great Commission, it is crucial to make disciples who are strong in the ability to search the scriptures for sound biblical truth for their everyday lives and ministries. The dynamics of our mission are to:
• provide high quality online video examples of actual Bible studies.
• reach Christians and non-Christians with sound scriptural truths.
• equip laymen and church leaders in effective Bible study methods, tips, and tools.
We accomplish our work through 4 key ministry efforts:
1. Show A Passion
Believers and non-believers alike see average people enjoying time spent together in God’s word. Many (even Christians) have never been in a Bible study and we allow them to “sit in” and see how God’s word can speak to issues of today’s modern culture. The people in our videos demonstrate their own passion for being in the scriptures together… for many, this is a first-time experience.
2. Grow A Passion
By demonstrating actual Bible studies including marked pages from studied scriptures, we give real-life examples of personal Bible study, meditation, and application. We ask each other questions and show how to glean truth from the pages of the word. We also provide video tips and tools to encourage personal effectiveness in studying and sharing the Bible.
3. Increasing Our YouTube Outreach
Working within the framework of the YouTube algorithm to enhance the reach of our videos, we accomplish this through title research, Search Engine Optimization, and quality editing and production. By growing our subscribers, impressions, and comments, YouTube will be more and more apt to recommend our video Bible studies to new viewers from around the world. At present, over 75% of our views come from people OUTSIDE the U.S.
4. Reinforcing with Social Media
Bible Study With Friends posts 4 new study videos each week. Each one of these videos is shared and linked on Social Media platforms like: Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter in order to widen our ministry outreach. We encourage believers and non-believers alike to watch, share, and discuss the issues we cover in our videos.
TOGETHER we can teach and model Bible-based fellowship,
personal Bible study, and sound teaching!
William Wilberforce sums up the need for our Bible Study With Friends ministry. He wrote,
“Why is it so hard to get people to study the Scriptures? Common sense tells us what revelation commands: 'Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God'-- 'Search the Scriptures'-- 'Be ready to give to everyone a reason of the hope that is in you.' These are the words of the inspired writers, and these injunctions are confirmed by praising those who obey the admonition. And yet, for all that we have the Bible in our houses, we are ignorant of its contents. No wonder that so many Christians know so little about what Christ actually taught; no wonder that they are so mistaken about the faith that they profess.”
